These shooting mats were originally designed for the range but are known to be in operational use for long term sniping roles and target observation. 

For the hunter/stalker a range mat is ideal, not just for zeroing and practice sessions, but in the field.  Set yourself up and wait in comfort for the rabbits/deer/fox, insulated from damp, cold and stoney ground.
